The night that was brilliant

Today.

The things glowing and bowing down.
Because You are on our side.
The moon outrageous
Right up on it. Orange.
Some wild and lucky moon.
Some impossible moon they said on the news.
and by the end of the night it was still sinking

But it was like all our worth back.
Like this night was anointed for our turn to catch
This last parting gaze.
So easy
The night so wanting us.
To keep going on our bikes.
To make it back in time.

Like we can make some magnify.
as if we could really be the hum that all the glory
of the night was motioning for.

Like we could make this defy

That the moon had been waiting out for us
Still wildly unrolling.

All pink and promisey
Cooing so much that even Richmond looked like mana on the other side
Like a cake of candles you could never blow out

Then all the unnecessary details stopped.
Our mental fidgeting, our mental nowheres

We had to depart from the impossible places. the hold-ups. we tried to keep tossing around zagging through unloosening on our bikes. All the frail places were uncaught.
